Where do I make the change on my website?

Use your platform’s page settings for the selected change. Check the published page afterwards because editor previews do not prove what visitors or crawlers receive.

Before opening the editor

Choose one change and save the existing value. These instructions were checked against official documentation on 10 October 2026, not tested inside paid platform accounts. Your editor, plan and permissions can change which controls you see. Use the linked official instructions if the menu differs.

Kajabi

For a website page, go to Website > Website Pages, open the page’s three-dot menu and choose Edit details. Set the SEO and social sharing title and description. Check Published versus Draft, Member Visibility and Show page in search results separately. Empty page SEO fields can inherit site details.

For an image block, use Image Alt Attribute. For headings, use the controls available in your theme and verify the rendered heading structure.

Before schema work, inspect what the page already outputs. Custom Code blocks can hold page code. Settings > Site details > Page scripts > Header Page Scripts affects the site broadly, excluding checkout and upsell pages. Do not place article-specific markup there for every page. The Custom JavaScript field is a different control and is not a place to paste a complete JSON-LD script tag.

Wix

In Wix Editor, open Pages & Menu > page More Actions > SEO basics. Edit Title tag and Meta description. Other Wix editors may use different tabs. Check Let search engines index your pages for the intended page; broad SEO settings can affect a whole page type.

Select an image, open Settings and use What’s in the image? Galleries have their own media settings. For decorative images, check the Accessibility Wizard.

Advanced SEO > Structured Data Markup can accept custom JSON-LD. Wix limits each markup to less than 7,000 characters and allows up to five per page. Products, bookings, posts and events may already have preset markup. Check it before adding another block.

Squarespace

Open Pages > page gear > SEO for page metadata. Check the SEO title and site title format together, and set SEO Description where supported. The homepage uses SEO/AI Visibility > SEO Settings > Search appearance > Home on current sites; older versions differ.

For an image block, open the pencil > Content > Image alt text. Galleries, featured images and backgrounds behave differently. A background image does not have the same alt-text field, so put essential information in real text.

Custom page markup uses Page settings > Advanced > Page Header Code Injection where available. Code injection requires Core, Plus, Advanced or an eligible legacy plan; checkout pages do not support it. Inspect existing markup first. Hide page from search results is a search instruction, not password protection.

WordPress

First establish whether you use WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress. Their plan limits and tools differ. Edit the page title and content in the page editor. For descriptions and schema, check the SEO tool or theme already installed rather than adding a second overlapping plugin.

Use Heading blocks for section structure and the Image block’s Alternative Text field for useful image descriptions. A theme may already render the page title as its main heading. Recheck the page instance after changing an image in the Media Library.

For self-hosted WordPress, Settings > Reading includes Discourage search engines from indexing this site. It is a site-wide instruction, not access protection. WordPress.com has its own visibility controls and SEO features. Change only the setting that applies to the confirmed issue.

Custom websites

Give the developer the exact page address, the current evidence and the intended result. Ask them to edit the page’s title and description, semantic headings, normal HTML links, image alt attributes or existing JSON-LD as appropriate.

If important text is absent from the initial HTML, ask them to compare the server response with the browser-rendered page. Returning key facts in the HTML may make them available to simpler readers. This does not prove every AI service will read or cite them.

Save, review and publish deliberately

Preview the change, check it on a phone and keep a way to restore the previous version. A saved draft may not be public. Publish only when you or the site owner approve the change, then recheck the live address. A plugin inspection does not publish for you.

Made-up example / Online coach

One title change, one check

A coach replaces “Services” with a precise page title in the website editor. They check the preview, publish the approved change, then inspect the same live address. If the old title is still returned, they investigate caching or the wrong setting instead of calling the change complete.

One thing to try

Try it on one public page

  1. Identify your platform and the one detail you intend to change.
  2. Save the current value and use the relevant controls above.
  3. Preview the result and check nearby text, images and links.
  4. When approved, publish using your platform and reopen the exact public address.

How to check the result

  • Confirm the changed value in the live page or returned HTML.
  • Check the page on a phone and follow its next-step link.
  • If an editor control is unavailable, record that limitation and ask your website provider for the supported route.

Keep the page address, date and evidence. A page improvement is not a promise of rankings or AI citations.
