Your browser may show more than the downloaded page
A browser can run JavaScript that adds text after the first response. The plugin does not run that code. Other possibilities include a sign-in screen, an access challenge, a temporary server error, content in an image or an extraction limit. Low text alone does not identify which cause applies.
Compare before diagnosing
Open the same address while signed out. Check whether it shows your actual page, a login screen or a security challenge. Compare the important text you see with the returned extract. If you need help, share the public address, response status and missing sentence with your website person.
Google can render JavaScript, subject to its own processing and limitations. That does not tell us what every AI crawler does. A successful browser visit is not proof of universal access either.
Fix the demonstrated cause
If essential facts exist only in an image, add ordinary page text. If the page is intentionally private, keep it private and improve the public sales page. If your developer confirms that key text is absent from the initial HTML, ask about returning it in that HTML. Do not disable security or rebuild the website based only on a short extract.
Made-up example / Kajabi course creator
The course page looks full, but the extract is short
A creator sees a course description in the browser but the report contains only navigation. They record the missing paragraph and ask their website provider to compare the initial response with the rendered page. They do not label the whole website “invisible to AI”.
One thing to try
Try it on one public page
- Keep the short extract and page address.
- Open that address while signed out and find one important sentence.
- Note whether you see a challenge, login or loading error.
- Ask your website person to identify why the sentence is missing from the response before changing settings.
How to check the result
- Recheck the same public address after any repair. Confirm whether that sentence is now in the returned text.
- If the request still fails, record the failure. Do not claim improved access or resolved findings.
Keep the page address, date and evidence. A page improvement is not a promise of rankings or AI citations.
